'The Hangar' Orlando

In 2017, Avenue Event Group reached out to Sheltair in order to host one of their largest events ever, with a guest appearance of Keith Urban!  This event opened up the “Hangar Door” to new possibilities for AEG.  The partners knew that having a 20,000 sq ft blank canvas location added to their portfolio would easily create new business for them, but the challenges of working with a space that already has a primary source of revenue was met with some hesitations.

AEG met with the Senior VP of Real Estate and Development of Sheltair Aviation to discuss how we could help bring more large, qualified, corporate events and provide Sheltair with supplementary income. In that meeting we discussed the challenges of hosting events at an active airport hangar along with the restrictions that we would have to abide by through the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority as well as the Federal Aviation Authority.

Once we learned all of the regulations we got right to work! We knew that Sheltair didn’t want to receive inquiries directly, as they are in the aviation industry, not the events industry.  In order to make it work for all parties, we decided to create a new brand, separate from Sheltair, in order to facilitate event leads.  AEG then began marketing ‘The Hangar’ Orlando as a premier venue with endless event possibilities, which led to countless leads and a number of grand-scale events.

Avenue Event Group manages all aspects of the events which is a huge bonus for the team at Sheltair Aviation, while they work on their core Aviation business, AEG handles the rest!
